1833 Mystical Phenomena in the Life of Theresa Neumann, by Most Reverend Josef Teodorowicz translated by Rev. Rudolph Kraus, Ph.D., S.T.D. (read 4 Mar 1984) This book was written in the late 1930's by an archbishop from the Ukraine, and was published in English in 1946. It has many defects, but one cannot help but be impressed by some of what the book recounts. The chapter on her fasting seemed quite convincing to me. The chapter on her Aramaic is also fascinating. If only the author were more precise, more objective, more detailed, more eager to document. The book is written more like a book of devotion than a documentary. Obviously, there is a wealth of literature on Theresa Neumann, much of it in German--and divided into two warring camps. I will be reading some anti books, too. But this was a fascinating account.
