Beauty. Wealth. Success. She's got it all. And it all should've been mine. Everything is slipping through Eleanor Hardwicke's fingers. When her beloved father dies, her world is further shattered by a gut-wrenching secret: the man she's grieving isn't really her dad. Eleanor was the product of an affair and her biological father is still out there, living blissfully with the family he chose. With her personal life spiraling, a desperate Eleanor seeks him out, leading her to uncover another branch on her family tree-an infuriatingly enviable half-sister. Perfectly perfect Victoria has everything Eleanor could ever dream of. Loving childhood, luxury home, devoted husband. All of it stolen from Eleanor, who deserves it just as much. Now she plans to take it back. After all, good sisters are supposed to share. And quiet, docile little Eleanor has been waiting far too long for her turn to play.… (más)

Oh Eleanor, she has always been the black sheep of her family. That is except for with her dad, who has cancer and who is in hospice. She drops in and overhears a conversation with her mom and dad discussing her dads will and her mom insisting that he should leave all his minimal inheritance to his real daughter, Amy. Eleanor learns she is not his biological daughter! She goes in causes a scene and quickly rushes out after her dad has a medical emergency and her mom blames her. It’s not until the next day that she finds out her dad passed and provided a name for the doctor to pass along to Eleanor.

She snoops and follows her biological dad and family and even meets her biological father. After he quickly refuses to have anything to do with her and warns her to stay away from him and his family. She still snoops, she is in desperate need of a family. She secretly befriends her half sister, yet doesn’t tell her who she is.

A disaster from her lies and secrecy is a given to happen, but it’s nothing what you will be thinking. The twist is incredible!! ( )

WOW! That was a crazy ride, from beginning to end!

Initially, I was a tad bit annoyed. I've read a string of books lately with insecure main characters, and this was looking like more of the same. Additionally, there was a bit more romance than I prefer, but the resulting story more than makes up for these minor transgressions.

It took me less than 24 hours, from start to finish, to devour this book, and I have FIVE KIDS. Five very neglected children. Just kidding, they're all fed and fine, let me just do a quick head count... Yup, all present and accounted for, and the food the baby's eating off the floor looks like its from today.

Anyway, at the start you're plunged into a family full of strife, instant drama, crazy scandal, horrific events, and terrible tragedies. Literally, within the first 20 pages. It slows down, a little, only to thrust you head first into a never ending tornado of calamity and catastrophes until the end when it comes to a screeching halt and leaves you wondering what the hell happened. I couldn't believe the end, I still can't wrap my head around what happened.

Clear your schedule before you pick up this book because you will refuse to put it down until you're finished.

Thanks to NetGalley for the free copy in exchange for an honest review. ( )

A secret no daughter ever wants to hear!!!!!
When Eleanor father dies, her world is shattered by a dark secret, the man she’s grieving over isn’t her father. Eleanor was the product of an affair and her biological father is still out there, living his best life with the family he chose. And not with her! With her life taking a turn, a desperate Eleanor seeks him out, Thats when she discovers another member of her family..... her beautiful, smart half sister. The perfect Victoria has everything Eleanor could ever dream of. Loving childhood, luxury home, devoted husband. All of it stolen from Eleanor, And she plans to take it all back. good sisters are supposed to share right?. And Eleanor has waited far too long to get what she has always wanted!

This was a great book! It started out slow for me! More of a slow-burn for me. But as read more and more. It got really crazy! I was like what in the world is going on here! And I love those types of books.
The novel is well written, and the plot is good with the right pace.
I would recommend this read.

Thank You NetGalley and Hannah Mary McKinnon for this ARC!
I apperiacte it and it was an honor! ( )

Ho hum! It's been a long time since I have had a book that I was so bored with. The main character was a ditz to put it kindly. She did things that I found so unbelievable from a supposedly educated woman. Even the plot was flimsy. I know I'm a minority with this opinion, but it just didn't do anything for me. Oh wait...yes it did. It allowed me to mark another category off a challenge. ( )
