I've always loved Donna Grant's "Reaper" series but this installment fell short in comparison to the others I have previously read and enjoyed. I just wasn't invested in the characters nor storyline as much as I wanted to be and overall, the book was just… blah. You know? Sure it wasn't terrible and to some extent I did like certain aspects to Dubhan and Kyra relationship and their journey but there was no wow factor. Sadly this installment wasn't for me yet nevertheless I very much look forward to seeing what the author has in store for us next.

Dubhan is a Reaper assigned with the task of locating Xaneth.

In a moment that wasn't supposed to be witnessed the Light Fae discovered Reapers are indeed real and that Dubhan has captured her attention. Now to track him and find out why he means so much to her.

Dubhan never heard of being able to find someone just by thinking of them. He's never encountered a Fae quite like Kyra. Brave, headstrong and curious. With her by his side he's learning more about The Others, strange symbols and the fact she is "one of those Kavanaugh's".

What I love about Donna's books is while we get a love story we get more excitement and action. Here we learn more about the Others, how and why mortals were brought to this realm, and some interesting tidbits! Death does not have Balladyn's body

Here's what really got my attention, Eva (Kyra's missing aunt) is a part of the Others. She had been trying to train Kyra for when it was time for her to take her place with the Others. Obviously that isn't going to happen now that she has fallen in love with a Reaper.....and she knows more of the truth. Now another thing that is made mention that I'm dying to know about, the book of spells that Eva brought back with her from the Fae Realm.

So much packed into this book. Love, betrayal, hope, new discoveries and questions....plenty of new questions that need answers. Donna bring on the next book so we can find our answers! ( )

Another chapter in the storyline of the Reapers. Kyra is a sassy, sexy, independent fae who was drawn to Dubhan from the first moment she saw him and the others at the light castle. She knows he's a Reaper. She knows he's a dark fae. She knows it is risky seeking his help. But she doesn't have anywhere else to turn. Dubhan is a quiet, keep to himself, Reaper. Here to do Death's bidding and find Xaneth before moving on to his next assignment. He knows someone is following him. He knows it is a female fae. He needs to find out why and alert Death. But things aren't always what they seem and sometimes our histories cross in unexpected ways. A fun, easy to read story that fills in another piece of the puzzle. Although, it is missing the romantic tension of the other Dark Alpha couples. ( )

It was amazing! Another hit by Donna Grant! I will never stop reading that woman. Another reaper finds his mate and I can't wait for the next one! ( )

Dubhan is one of Death’s Reapers and he is being followed. Who is following him? A woman and what a woman she is! Kyra is Light Fae but she has a special gift that allows her to locate Dubhan easily...a rather rare talent as few are able to do such a thing. Once she saw him she was almost inexorably drawn to him and though a bit stalker-ish she really could not pull away.

This is a snippet in the long story of this realm. A few characters make appearances, we learn about Dubhan’s family and how he was betrayed, Kyra’s family is almost as bad as Dubhan’s and we hear a bit about them, we learn a bit more about The Others, there are some deaths and a romance with the knowledge that there is an eventual war coming that will be inevitable.

I do not think this is a good point to begin reading this series. I have not read all of the series but wouldn’t mind doing so at some point in the future. I have no idea how much longer the story will go on but do hope that eventually the story lines will be tied together and the entire world of dragons, kings, Fae and others will be able to have a bit of peace.
