On one hand, the story is sweet, basic and not super original. On the other hand, it's about a PINK AXOLOTL literally cheerleading his friends through their problems so how could anyone call this unoriginal? My 5yo thought it was cute because it is. ( )

I had to read this book as soon as I saw the cover because I saw it had an Axylotl on it and my students are obsessed with those. It's also a graphic novel type of picture book which I thought was really cool. This book is funny, entertaining, cute, and includes a character that looks similar to a ninja turtle (that's a plus in my book). I just know my students would go absolutely crazy over this book if they got their hands on it.

A short but sweet tale about helping others and that cheering people on and helping them do their best is a valuable thing. Adorable and quick, I enjoyed this despite being well above its demographic, and I think others would too. ( )
