"The winning hand: Darcy Wallace has less than ten dollars in her pocket when her car breaks down just outside Las Vegas. Dazzled by the lights and desperate to take a chance, she spends the last of her money at a hotel casino and wins the jackpot. When casino manager Robert MacGregor Blade sees how innocent and nervous Darcy is, all he wants to do is protect her. But there's something alluring about the young stranger, and it's messing with Mac's good intentions. Winning Darcy over will be a gamble, but it could be the most rewarding one of Mac's life. The perfect neighbor: Brooding writer Preston McQuinn's new apartment, like his life, is just the way he prefers it--private and empty. But when sunny Cybil Campbell comes barging into his well-ordered gloom, he can't deny a grudging fascination with his bright, bubbly neighbor. Long ago, Preston had closed the door on love for good, so why is he suddenly anxious to open up his heart?"--Publisher marketing.… (más)

Probably my favorite of all the McGregor books. Typical contemporary romance from Nora Roberts. ( )

MacGregor family patriarch only gets one chance to play matchmaker in this omnibus, although he makes an appearance in both entries.

On the run from a future she wants no part of, Darcy Wallace gambles her last three dollars at a Las Vegas casino, hits the jackpot, and wakes up to discover that all her dreams really can come true - and if Justin MacGregor Blade has anything to do with it, one of those dreams will involve him.

All Preston McQuinn wants is a quiet place to finish his new play - unfortunately, his new neighbor is anything but quiet. And he's slowly discovering he likes her that way...

No surprises here - two pleasantly paced trips down the road to happily ever after. ( )

There is no way that you won't fall in love with the whole MacGregors clan. This series is something that I haven't found anything in the past almost 10 years that has topped it. ( )

Love this series. In the first story, Darcy is down on her luck and ends up winning at a slot machine. The next story threw me off some, because it didn't deal directly with a MacGregor. It deals with the "like a grandaughter" figure of Cybil who falls in love with her quiet, apartment dwelling neighbor. ( )
