Donna Grant is a gifted story teller taking you on a trip full of fantasy, wonder, intrigue, deception, passion, and love. The Dragon King’s story continues as Keltan is sent by Ulrik to a discussion on dragons, given by cryptozoologist Bernadette Davies. He is there to discover what she thinks she knows about dragons but soon discovers that the sexy woman has far more knowledge than should be possible and she claims to have irrefutable proof. This cannot be. They have hidden their identity well destroying any evidence of their existence that falls into human hands. Who is divulging this information to her? What is her proof? Who is she working with? When Bernadette shows up at Draegan unexpectedly Keltan decides to spend time with her giving her the information she wants in order to discover her source. He will then have Guy wipe her memories of dragons, Dreagan, and of him forever. It is for the best. He doesn't want this mutual attraction they feel, he doesn’t want a human woman, he doesn't want or need a mate. If you are new to the Dark Kings books and want to catch up on the story I suggest you start with Dark Craving; however, to get the whole Dark World story from the beginning include the Warriors and the Reapers beginning with Dangerous Highlander. FEVER by Donna Grant Dark Kings #16 Dragons, and warriors and fae – oh my! AND there are OTHERS. Okay...putting silliness aside...this is an entertaining, ongoing series that has created a world and worlds beyond that is inhabited by more than humans. I did not get in on the beginning of this series but did pick up a few books later in the series and a few of the side stories that are part of the series and would like to, at some point in time, go back to the beginning and read them all in order. That said...if you are coming into this series having never read any of the previous books I would recommend this one as it gives a great deal of the backstory as Kelton tells Bernadette the history of the dragons. As he tells their story he mentions others (warriors, druids, fae, dark & light, good & bad and he also mentions The Others. There is mention of other worlds/universes and more. So, coming into the series on this book could/should work for many who might decide to give it a try. Bernadette is a scholar, anthropologist, cyrptologist and seeker of the truth. She was doing fine professional and personally until one day she met a woman who took her to see a dragon. A year later she presents a talk and in walks Kelton at the bequest of his acting dragon king. Fate or Fae manipulation? Who knows. That meetings sparks a sequence of events that leads the entire universe closer to resolution of issues within this world the author has created. Some live, some die, some marry, a mate is found and a new presence is introduced that has me wondering what will happen next. While some issues are resolved in this bookmore than a few threads are left dangling to be worked on in the future. Did I enjoy this book? Yes Do I want to read more in this series? Definitely Thank you to NetGalley and St. Martin’s Publishing for the ARC – This is my honest review. 5 Stars Fever will show you a new fond love of dragons...dark and dangerous. I have read a few books in this series but after reading this book; I will be trying to catch up on these books. Forget about "mother of dragons". What about "men of dragons". Kelton is the type of guy that you would not mind getting lost with. You could say that Bernadette's dreams came true when she met Kelton. Can we talk about the sec scenes...H-O-T! If I had been wearing eyeglasses, they would have been foggy with steam. The first half kind of sets up the story with introductions and such. The latter half is where more of the "meat" of the story happens. Overall, I was happy with this book. Long live dragons. sin reseñas | añadir una reseña
"For centuries, the Dragon Kings have lived among mortals, forsaking their true selves. But for Keltan, hiding in the realm of shadows--and existing only in the world of dreams--is no longer an option. A human woman claims to know that he, like other dark warriors of his kind, is real. That the legends about these powerful, seductive men with hearts ablaze are true. And that, with just one embrace, Keltan could destroy her ... or love her until the end of time. Bernadette Davies is an anthropologist who knows better than to fall into the arms of a Dragon King. But how can she resist Keltan when he's so willing to share his secrets and bare his soul? He hasn't met a beautiful, trustworthy woman like Bernadette in ... forever. But once they give into their mutual desire, their worlds will never be the same. Soon Bernadette must face her dilemma: Should she expose the truth about Keltan in the name of science? Or join him in his battle with the dark forces--in the name of love?"-- No se han encontrado descripciones de biblioteca. |

Well this book finds us learning about Keltan and Bernadette. Bernadette is an archaeologist who recently has become an expert on the Dragon Kings. She goes around giving lectures and showing proof to back up her theories. Yes, we know some is using her as their puppet and you probably have an idea who....the B*TCH!
What I can say is this book is going to reveal A HELL OF A LOT! An old friend will be making a new and frankly very interesting and mysterious new friend. We get more pieces to the puzzle of The Others. And I warn you now, there will be moments in this book where you will want to scream in frustration, throw the book and then hug your knees and cry....an ugly cry too!
I know most of you are wondering if you get more clues to Rhi's king and if it's Con. I'm still on the fence about the two of them being a couple but reading some of the passages....I'm more confused than ever. But here's the thing, during this book you are going to become so involved in what's going on that you might just forget to wonder...is he her King?
There is so much I want to discuss but since I received an ARC I don't want to spoil the adventure for all of you who have been not-so-patiently waiting. But just think...in a couple of weeks I'll edit this review then we can have a real good time!!!! ( )
