Pieta has a secret. Ten years ago, Pieta was kidnapped from outside a London nightclub by a man who said he wouldn't kill her if she kept her eyes closed for 48 hours. Pieta survived the weekend but was left emotionally and physically scarred by the experience. Now living in Brighton, she is a mother and journalist with a good life - until she is tasked with interviewing Callie, a woman who has the same story and scars as she does. Pieta has never told anyone what she did to escape with her life but now she may have to... Jody has a secret. Fifteen years ago policewoman Jody made a terrible mistake that resulted in a prolific serial killer known as The Blindfolder escaping justice. Only his newest victim Callie is willing to talk publicly about her ordeal, but when Jody finds out journalist Pieta was also once kidnapped by him, she realises how she can catch him. But that would mean endangering at least two innocent people... Callie has a secret. As the newest victim of the man known as the Blindfolder, Callie knows all eyes are on her to tell her story and give the police the information they need to catch this man. I was absolutely delighted to learn that Dorothy Koomson, one of my top ten, or quite possibly even my top five favourite authors had written a new novel. 'Tell Me Your Secret' is a top-notch read and an absolute masterpiece!

The 'Blindfolder' abducts women, holds them for forty-eight hours and lets them live and return to their life provided they don't open their eyes during this time. If the victims do open their eyes they are killed. The 'Blindfolder' has struck many times and it's a race against the clock for the Police to solve the crime. Detective Inspector Jody Foster leads the Police team trying to apprehend the perpetrator and they find themselves having to enlist the help of journalist Pieta Rawlings who succeeds in securing the rights to tell the story of a survivor, Callie.

This was a totally engrossing, rather sick tale of abuse, prejudice and revenge with plenty of twists and turns that certainly had me thinking and playing armchair detective. With very strong and expertly drawn characters, I found myself rooting for them all the way through, especially Pieta.

I have read several of Dorothy Koomson's other novels, including 'The Ice Cream Girls' and 'The Brighton Mermaid' and this novel, 'Tell Me Your Secret', is just as good, if not better!

A must-read and well worth five stars.

Thank you to Dorothy Koomson and Pigeonhole for giving me the opportunity to read this book. This review is my own unbiased opinion. ( )

Tell Me Your Secret is a dark and chilling thriller which will have you on the edge of your seat. A serial killer nicknamed ‘The Blindfolder’ who has been terrorising London for many years has turned his sights on Brighton, bringing a detective and a victim together to help bring him to justice.

I thought this story was gripping, very much a page turner. I read it via the Pigeonhole app and I was on tenterhooks waiting for the next stave to arrive. It takes you on a tense, white knuckle rollercoaster of a journey with plenty of twists and turns, the odd red herring and features one or two cliffhangers. The shock ending could be considered quite ambiguous in certain respects, maybe leaving it open for a sequel.

An engaging, fast paced and exiting thriller which I very much enjoyed and would recommend. ( )
