This book is absolutely fantastic and I enjoyed reading it! The Rogue King is a great start to a new series by Abigail Owen. It was non-stop action from beginning to end. I loved the characters, and the world building. When Kasia can't control her fire, which also allows her to see visions, she seeks help and winds up at a clinic where someone suspects what she is and rats her out. Kaisa is the eldest of four sisters, whose mother was the last known phoenix in the world. Or at least, she was until she surrendered her powers over to her daughters before promptly being murdered. So for the past few years Kaisa has been living in hiding, on the run from dragon forces that would use her as a political pawn. But when she powers being to flare out of control, she is exposed by people she seeks help from and finds herself caught by Brand. Brand is a rogue, which means he doesn't have a clan, since the brutal fall of his family. His only goal is revenge and for that he needs the support of a dragon clan, so he befriended King of the Blue Dragons, and if he could bring the blue King a phoenix then he's in the clan. But things take a turn. I'm not going to spoil too much more but I just LOVED the dynamic between Kasia and Brand! There was never a dull moment in this story and I am sooo looking forward to reading the next book, especially with the cliffhanger at the end! This is a must-read for paranormal romance fans. I highly recommend it! Blog | Instagram | Twitter | Facebook WOW, I knew that book one would leave me breathless, but I was not ready for the book to end yet. I smiled, laughed, and clapped as Brand and Kassia FINALLY came together. Brand was a rogue mercenary who tracked the Phoenix for the blue clan blood king. With his family all gone, he waited for his chance to kill the king who forced him to give up his throne and go rogue. Book one had me rapidly as there were so much action that I could barely keep up! This book was steamy and full of twists. A dragon shifter, a phoenix shifter, nefarious plans, and a spark that can't be denied. After what happened to her family, it's no surprise that Kasia is wary of Brand, but the fire that flares between them can't be ignored either. Kasia's predicament will have you on the edge of your seat, but when she's with Brand you'll be reaching for a cool drink. A brilliant start to the series, and I look forward to reading more of it! You just really can’t go wrong with dragons! I haven’t read too many shifter romances lately but I almost always seem to enjoy them when I do pick them up. This was the first book in Inferno Rising series and I am now thinking that there may be more of these books on my tbr very soon. I enjoyed this book quite a bit. There was a moment when I worried that the book might not be right for me but things started to click and I was soon swept away by this story. Kasia has always hidden what she is from the world. She is a phoenix and there are many that would like to possess her for their own gain. Dragons know that whoever she takes as a mate will become the king of all dragons. Brand shows up with plans to take her to the Blood King and proves that he will keep her safe on their journey. I really liked all of the dragon politics in this story and thought that the world-building was incredibly well done. There was plenty of action and excitement to keep things interesting. I liked the characters in this book quite a bit. Kasia and Brand were great characters and I liked seeing them try to figure out how to navigate the impossible situation that they found themselves in. I loved that we got to see growth in both of these characters over the course of the story. I thought that they had fantastic chemistry with each other and couldn’t help but cheer them on towards their happily ever after. One of my favorite characters in the book was Maul, a hellhound. I love how much this creature added to the story and his dedication to Kasia was touching. I alternated between the audiobook and print version of this novel and while I wasn’t thrilled by the narrators at the start I did adjust and grew to like what they added to the story. I think that this was the first time that I listened to either Sarah Puckett or Alexandre Steele and I do usually need some time to adjust to new to me narrators. In the end, I felt like they both did a good job with this story and I would listen to more of their work in the future. I would recommend this book to fans of paranormal romance. I found this to be a very enjoyable read with wonderful world-building, fantastic characters, just enough heat, and a lot of excitement. I hope to check out the next book in the series very soon. I received a review copy of this book from Entangled Publishing and borrowed a copy of the audiobook from my local library. sin reseñas | añadir una reseña
