EducatingParents.org rating: Approved This Little Critter book delivered a pretty powerful message about recycling and taking care of the Earth. The words and illustrations would help any child in kindergarten or higher to understand the moral being taught. In some instances, I felt too much was going on; whether it be a crowded drawing or crammed text. Overall, I felt it was a good book. Summary- His teacher teaches him about saving the earth. He goes home and teaches his family about it,then his class has a competition of who can do the most good things. His family wins and they have a party and plant a tree! Personal Reaction-It's good that a little kid book teaches you at a young age that we need to care of the planet earth. Class Extension 1-Teach the students ways to help keep the earth clean maybe have a competition like they did in they book. Class Extension 2-Celebrate Earth Day at school! Summary: Little Critter learns about taking care of the Earth at school. He decides to teach his family what he learned. They win a competition for taking care of the Earth at his school. Personal Reaction: I loved this book! The illustrations are great! It teaches an important concept but in a kid-friendly way! Extension #1: I would use this book to teach about the importance of the Earth and Earth day! Extension #2: I would ask the students to conserve/recycle for a week and have them journal at the end of the week about what they did to help the Earth. sin reseñas | añadir una reseña
