It's like a darker and more mysterious Archie comic, with a space theme woven in -- I really like it -- the day to day high school mini dramas, the gradual reveal of stories. Good stuff. ( ) This was another decent installment in the Space Boy series by McCranie. Both my son (12 yr old) and I thought this was pretty slow but still well done. My son commented “When are we going to be done with this lame school stuff and get to the cool space stuff again?”...my thoughts exactly. Amy is continuing to adjust to life on Earth. The mystery around Oliver is still very slowly being unraveled. I did like that Amy finally decides to reach out to her old friends from her life in deep space. This is still a well drawn and fun read. However, the story was a bit stagnant in this volume. Things are just moving a bit too slow and there was a bit too much day-to-day life in this volume. Overall this was a decent volume in the Space Boy series but also the slowest so far. I am going to read volume 4 and if it continues to have the slow pacing seen in vol 3, I will probably stop reading this series. My son is mostly done with this series I think, he said, “Let me know if the 4th book is actually interesting”. Continuing with the animal ag. storyline introduced in Volume 2, this installment of Space Boy is a real rollercoaster of animal welfare ethics. Sitting down to eat a chicken salad sammie in front of the baby chicks she just spent the better part of an hour snugging, Amy immediately recognizes the moral dilemma barrelling down on her: and she steps up by deciding to go vegetarian. A few days later, she's at a diner and mistakenly takes a bite of Oliver's sandwich, which contains bacon. "Well, as long as we don't raise piglets, I'm good." Gross, no thanks. Don't get my hopes up by introducing a vegetarian character only to have her cave a few panels later. And seriously, this is thirty+ years in the future but we still don't have lab-grown meat? How pedestrian, dude. Another pleasant if meandering volume of this romance/mystery/sci-fi mishmash. The mysterious Space Boy remains mysterious, though a little more annoying this time with another criminal act. The concept remains a little loopy with our heroine who "smells" people's personalities somehow able to apply this ability over a Skype call from deep space. Fun teen soap opera, though. sin reseñas | añadir una reseña
