In one of his columns, Bob Greene wondered whether any of the stories about Vietnam veterans being spit on upon their return to America were true, and asked veterans to send in their accounts of what happened. This disturbing book is the result. Veterans were divided in their responses, some with spitting incidents to relate, others with no bad experiences, and some with other types of sad tales. The book made me remember my own feelings about that time. I was lucky enough to miss the draft, either by a lucky birthdate or having gone to college. But I remember discussing with my parents that I would refuse the draft if called, and go to jail if that were the result. I would have no qualms about defending my country if attacked, or another if it were invaded (which was not quite the case in Vietnam). Greene interjects his opinion here and there, but mostly lets the veterans speak for themselves. ( ) sin reseñas | añadir una reseña
