Aspiring 12-year-old writer Lily Blennerhasset is convinced that her parents are the most un-cool people on earth, and in order to be a successful writer, she must be cool. So when she sees some distant relatives at a wedding, who are clearly the coolest people on earth, she attaches herself to them. The LeBlanc family, however, are con artists, and Lily makes one bad decision after another, after another as she falls head-first into their scam. Meanwhile, she also shuns her best friend, who is trying to convince her that the LeBlanc's are criminals. In the end, of course, she learns the truth and sees what a gullible fool she has been. It's hard to feel any sympathy for Lily, because she is such a fool, shutting off her own common sense, and shutting out her loving parents and sensible long-time best friend. Clocking in at around 230+ pages, it's a bit longer than the subject matter warrants. Further editing would have been helpful. The reader has fully gotten the message that Lily is being suckered by this family of crooks, when there is still a great deal of suckering left to go. sin reseñas | añadir una reseña
