Fiction. Literature. Suspense. Thriller. HTML:Marine officer. CIA analyst. President. Jack Ryan has devoted his life to protecting the United States. What if this time, he can't? President Ryan and the Campus return in this entry in Tom Clancy's #1 New York Times-bestselling series.

I found this book more entertaining than I thought it would be. I wasn't sure since I have never read any Cameron books. ( )

Ysabel Kashani is a character from a few books back, and in this one. I like her. She is the only person in the series that has problems with the Campus, Jack Ryan Jr, and the conservative mindset the Tom Clancy authors seem to love, that is not portrayed as an idiot or morally unworthy. Sometimes the loving right-wing characters get in these books is uncomfortable. There are a couple things that happened to Ysabel Kashani that I thought was a disservice to her. The first was not in this book, but in an earlier book. She was able to find key information by looking at a cell phone several days after the good guys had it. REALLY! The highly skilled Campus IT lead didn't find that? In this book she was brought in because she was the roommate of a person that was involved. COME ON! I wish the authors cared for her enough to give her more. Over all this was a good book. One I had a hard time putting down, and was easy to get back into it. Good stuff.

Jack Ryan series continues with The Campus watching an arms dealer in Portugal and Spain who is working with the Russians to get nuclear missiles to an insurgent Iranian group. Jack, Jr. reconnects with Ysabel Kashani, a Muslin woman from Iran. Characters were pretty well drawn and there was the usual extensive description of weapons and tactics as well as landscapes. ( )

Typical Clancy; lots of action, well researched, very believable. ( )

A youngster novel in disguise. When young I liked Enid Blytons Five go adventuring again type stories. This was of the kind. An intelligent and morally solid US president was a positive character. Overall quite boring. ( )
