I met Gerald Posner lfor the first time when he was interviewed at the local JCC for his new book about the Vatican and its Bank and finances, GOD'S BANKERS, a huge opus and thoroughly researched as to be dizzying in its details and convoluted plot lines, all of which are real and at times deadly.
The same applied to his 1988 book Warlords of Crime that I originally read in the late 1980's and recently reread. Again there is Gerald Posner's articulate and intricate details wrapped around real people who inhabit a world that he brings to life. The sad part about this book is that nothing has changed. Only the bad guys have become worse, the plots more nefarious and the players nastier. ( )
