Something like 18 different poets doing their "translations" of Pushkin's poems. I believe that some of them worked directly from the Russian, some of them from translations, some from translations of translations, etc. They used different methods and different approaches to the poems. A great first introduction to Pushkin for me; but at the end of the day I always wish I could read poetry in the original language. sin reseñas | añadir una reseña
‘How do you convince the English-speaking public that Pushkin’s genius is as great as the Russians claim?’ This question, raised at the bicentenary of Pushkin’s birth, is the catalyst for a collection of new translations, versions of and responses to the poetry of Pushkin by some of the best poets writing in English today.
