While intriguing, I felt like this novel didn't quite live up to my expectations. The characters were interesting and the story had some good moments, but overall I struggled to get through the book. I've really liked some of Paullina Simons's books, so my expectations may have been too high. Either way, I'm not intrigued enough to continue this series. It had a good premise, and the characters were nicely chiseled, but the story just didn't have oomph like I like. It took several chapters before I could get into it. My first outing with this author. This story captivated me immediately and the writing was a surprise! quite beautiful and poetic and a good match to the story. Now I have paused the audiobook halfway through, as the plot's expected roadblocks come into view. But I will finish it, as I'm sure there is more beauty in the writing to come, even if I'm not - yet - a fan of fantasy elements. A great summer romance to take along to the beach or enjoy by the pool Esta reseña ha sido escrita por los Primeros Reseñadores de LibraryThing. This book reads like the first book in a series, just setting up for the rest of the story instead of being a complete story in itself. It was fairly enjoyable, and I would recommend it to anyone who enjoys slightly magical romance. But a word of caution - best have the next book in the series ready to go when you finish! sin reseñas | añadir una reseña
