Miranda is an ecologist who is tired of being treated as lesser just because of the genitals she happens to have between her legs. She's much rather be judged by what's in between her ears. But no one she works with is going to do that. I actually thought that Caleb and Miranda were the perfect couple. And it's not just the bear shifter who lives in the woods meets a lady ecologist, although I love that irony. No, it's definitely more than that. It's about how well they complement each other. It's also about how they wake each other up from the sleepwalking state that each of them are in. For different reasons and in different ways, but they are both just sleepwalking through the world. PNR is always hit and miss for me but these two do it well and add in some BDSM elements. The characters were great in this one and had delicious banter. I also really loved the dog named Bear. My only frustration was how Caleb had been searching for years for the answer to what had destroyed his life three years early and yet it's wrapped up within days. I also figured this mystery would have proven more of a threat. Still another great addition to this series that doesn't seem like it can ever run out of stories.
