A Charming Blend by Tonya Kappes features a blend between Roxy and Patrick from the Killer Coffee Series and June Heal from the Magical Cures Series. If you aren’t familiar with the two series, I’m sure this book will have your interest peaking. If you are familiar with them, you might want to catch up a bit with the Killer Coffee series. This blend has a spoiler if you are not caught up.
Roxy and Patrick have left Honey Springs to visit the town of Whispering Falls. Love is in the air and mixing with magic. Sassy and Pepper are with them and Mr Prince Charming can be found at A Charming Cure. They add some furry shenanigans to the fun. Of course, some favorites from the Magical Cures Series make appearances as well as a dead body.
The story is told from alternate viewpoints, first Roxy then June. The name of the narrator is listed at the beginning of each chapter so you can easily check if you need to. The setting is at Christmas, which is one of my favorite times. The story is a fun, quick and easy read. It is a light but complete mystery. I really enjoyed the blending of the series. I am looking forward to seeing June and Roxy together again so I am truly hoping there is more crossing over to be done.
I first read this story as part of Cozy Christmas Crimes - A Cozy Christmas Box Set. I am pleased to see the story offered individually. I voluntarily reviewed this book after enjoying it a second time. ( )

There are so many wonderful characters in this book that I never wanted the story to end. I have to say my favorite was Prince Charming. He’s a cat with a unique gift and oh so adorable too. Going on your honeymoon is suppose to be fun and romantic. For Roxy and Patrick as they visit Whispering Falls they experience a honeymoon filled with magic and charm. The town is enchanting and full of surprises. I would love to go there and experience the charm it has.

Trouble seems to follow the honeymooners as a body is discovered while the tree lighting is going on. Is it a coincidence that Roxy was just speaking to the fiancée of the person who was found murdered? The author really does an amazing job of giving readers vivid details of the town and the unique gifts some people possess.

The story was easy to follow and so much fun to read. Roxy finds herself helping solve the murder and it was fun to read all the magical things that happened in the town. I loved getting to know Roxy and Patrick and following them along as their honeymoon was quite different from your typical destination. The mystery is intriguing and I loved how the author gave us clues to follow along as Roxy and June investigate. I like the crossover of characters from other books and how well they blended together to create a story that was so entertaining.

Roxy Mr. Prince Charming is kept busy tailing Roxy, but he cannot prevent her from tripping over a dead man in Santa’s sleigh. June’s special abilities are put to test in attempting to keep Roxy away from the murder investigation. Roxy, though, is one determined and curious woman especially when she observes some oddities. Will Whispering Falls survive Roxy’s visit?

A Charming Blend is a crossover novella featuring June Heal from A Magical Cures Mystery series and Roxy Bloom from A Killer Coffee Mystery series. Fans of both series will enjoy this spirited story. Tonya Kappes has an engaging writing style. I am immediately drawn into the story and do not want leave until I finished the very last word. A Charming Blend is a whimsical and humorous cozy mystery. It has a quick pace and can easily be read in one sitting. Roxy and June coming together was highly entertaining. I fond myself laughing frequently while reading A Charming Blend. The mystery is light but that is natural considering the book length. Mr. Prince Charming is a clever feline and his final scene will have you giggling. Admirers of Tonya Kappes’ two series will be enchanted with A Charming Blend. ( )

s was a wonderful mixture of 2 series by Tonya Kappes. She took Roxy Bloom fromA Killer Coffee Mystery series and June Heal from A Magical Cures Mystery and made a wonderful novella. This was a great cozy mystery that was light and mystical. I needed this light mystery after reading some much heavier stories. This was a great blend of both sleuths. I received a copy of this book from the author for a fair and honest opinion that I gave of my own free will. ( )
