I was incredibly sceptical about picking up this series of graphic novels, because there was a point when Star Wars was everything (and I mean EVERYTHING) to me but I was so disappointed with the developments of the late 1990s/early 2000s-era novels that I quit the genre entirely. I had grown up and found different (read other - anything else really) books to read and obsess over. But, as this series proved, Star Wars is a slippery slope for me, and once I was in again it was 5-graphicnovels-in-a-day deep into the chasm that is the Star Wars universe of publications. I was googling - sorry, Wookiepedia-ing - things left, right, and centre, and being pleasantly surprised to discover all the events that had happenned in my 15-year absence. Maybe it was having another Skywalker at the helm, maybe it was an improvement of storyline, or maybe it was just easier to keep up with the intricacies with the aid of a centralized online resource for quick-facts that just wasn't available way back when. Regardless, I'm officially back in the genre, and I'm definitely happy about it! ( ) Very interesting and unique concept. It is strange that the descendants of the Skywalker and Solo clan don't seem to recognize their family relationships. I guess it leaves room for more awkward situations, such as those encountered by Luke and Leia before they found out the truth. While all the various factions, many of them force users, is interesting, why do all the Sith have to be red and tattooed. The artwork in this graphic novel is impressive. The pencils are Jan Durrsema and Inks Dan parsons, and the Colors Brad Anderson. Their collaboration has created an extremely will illustrated graphic novel. This novel takes place approximately 130 years after the Battle of Yavin, but could potentially stand alone. This novel focuses more on the anti-hero side, and contains drug use. It's action packed, and engaging, if you're into the Star Wars kinda thing. :) More than a century after the events of the films, Cade Skywalker, the only grandson of Luke, has turned his back on the Jedi and become a bounty hunter. The galaxy is ruled once again by an Emperor, whose throne has been usurped by his treacherous Sith allies, and the conflict begins anew. Much as Cade would prefer to leave behind his Jedi heritage, his destiny isn't through with him. His grandfather's Force ghost nags him, and he keeps running into conflicts involving Sith and Jedi. The characters I find most sympathetic don't really get enough exposition to make me warm to them, and the combat scenes just look bizarre, as if every character is permanently off balance and ready to get their weapon knocked out of their grip. I'll be interested to see if things improve in the next volume. sin reseñas | añadir una reseña
