Coming more than 25 years after the last edition, this edition of the groundbreaking Ansoff work on the concepts and practical implementation of strategic management provides up-to-date case studies and simplified figures and offers a comprehensive approach to guiding firms through turbulent environments. In this age of digital transformation, the ability to respond quickly and strategically to unpredictable change can determine the success or failure of the firm. As an organization becomes more successful at implementing change, the ability to respond to changes in the environment will be entrenched in its culture. This book is based on a strategic success model which demonstrates how to optimize a firm's performance. For managers, students, and researchers wanting a step-by-step methodology on how to analyze a firm, this book will serve as an invaluable resource for thinking and acting strategically. If se start with the actual book, it is very badly edited. The clumsy layout and language errors makes the content difficult to absorb. And tables and figures look as if they are printed directly from the overheads Ansoff used in his lectures back in the 70's. They are badly designed and layouted, and the accompagnying texts completely fail to convey the content or the models.
The initial use of Salomes veils as to talk about complexity is obscure and extremely tonedeaf considering that the book is published in 2019.
The contortions of the structures to justify keeping Igor Ansoffs name on the author list is distracting, and to me, constitute blatant mis-use of Igor Ansoffs name - some might even call it grave robbery.
The theories are not sound, and I don't agree with the approach to strategy - this is dressing up humanistic and sociological theories with pseudo mathematic models and formulae to achieve a modicum of scientific respectability. A cargo cult for creating the veneer of scintific respectability.
The topics are interesting, but the delivery rarely delivers. ( )
