I loved this beautifully-written novel with the subtle touches of humor scattered throughout. Suzanne Woods Fisher has been one of my favorite authors for years. The writing was phenomenal and definitely why Suzanne Woods Fisher holds the title of my most-owned author. Fisher's writing is light but also serious. It is contemporary with historical influences.

Pam was my favorite character. She holds different beliefs than most of her neighbors due to seeing the need for renovation. She is a very strong supporting character who really pushes Blaine to become her own person, while also influencing those around her.

Cam was an enigma to me. She was very different in her actions and emotions. It was a bit difficult for me to like her, especially at first, but her character really blossomed later.

I have to say that Blaine was by far my favorite of the three sisters. At the beginning of the novel, she is very lost and floating through life while living in the shadow of her older sisters. As the novel progresses, she discovers her interests and passions, igniting a change on the island.

The setting perfectly matched the mood of the story and it was interesting to read about Acadia National Park.

Look at that beautiful cover! Isn't it gorgeous?

My Review of On A Summer Tide

Genre: Romance, Contemporary, fiction.

My Rating: 5 stars.

My Recommendation: 16-17 up, Warnings below.

My Favorite Character/s: Cooper, he's such a sweet little boy that has had a hard time since his mother died. I loved reading about him and seeing how he grew in the book.

My Verse for Cooper is Matthew 18:3

And said, Verily I say unto you, Except ye be converted, and become as little children, ye shall not enter into the kingdom of heaven. (King James Version.)

My Thoughts: I almost didn't try this book because I read a book by the author last year that I didn't even finish it I thought this one sounded wonderful. And it was! The whole story was really good and the characters developed well throughout the book. I loved this book and it may be my favorite summer read ever! As I said before I almost didn't read it but I'm glad now that I did and if you like romance this book may be perfect for you though I suggest if you're younger then 16 you not read it or have a family member/trusted friend read it.

Warnings: A child is born out of wedlock, and cheating.

I received an ARC of this book in exchange for my honest review and am truly happy to provide it -- all the thoughts are my own.

This was a great read. Thank you LibraryThing for giving me the chance to read it. This is the story of Paul Grayson, his 3 daughters and his grandson. It’s just good reading about the lives of these people and the challenges and accomplishments of their lives. ( )

A fractured family slowly comes together under circumstances that could only have been set in motion by a loving Creator. The Grayson family's story shows us the backside of their embroidered lives, but readers are blessed to be able to see the beauty created on the front side as this part of their story draws to a close, and to a new beginning.

While readers will be reading along enjoying this author's use of the rhythm of tension and ease, drawing near and drifting apart, and lifting up and letting down, they will experience a small and a large aha moment in the last quarter of the story when they least expect it.

This book will be a great vacation or staycation read. I am grateful to have received a copy of On a Summer Tide from Revell via NetGalley in exchange for my honest opinion. I was under no obligation to provide a positive review and received no monetary compensation.

I started this series, Three Sisters Island, because I won and ARC from LibraryThing for the third book and didn't want to miss out on the whole story. I'm glad I did, reminds me of Sullivans Crossing series by Robyn Carr, and is just as enjoyable to read so far. Great come around, restore an island and some faith thrown in here and there. I'm already in the middle of the next one! ( )
