Forced to help each other Oscar, a dogg, and Molly, a katt, when they end up lost in the wilderness, they discover that maybe the other species isn't so bad as they have been led to believe. As they watch the forest animals work together to help them get home, they think that maybe, just maybe working together has its advantages. Then reality knocks.

I enjoyed this book. It was fun. There was humor in it that will appeal to adults as well as kids. The illustrations are great. I wanted to know what happened on their trip and after they were reunited with their families who were so full of loathing towards the other group that they had a hard time focusing on finding their children. I liked that the children were leading the way to tolerance and peace (seems similar to today.)

This is a good collaboration. I always like these two writing together. ( )

This book is all kinds of entertainment, yet it packs an important message for kids as well as adults. Molly, a Katt, and Oscar, a Dogg, are both lost in the wilderness. They stumble across each other and join forces to save themselves, even though they were brought up to be sworn enemies. The authors do a good job of illustrating ways to overcome prejudices and unfounded preconceived ideas. Molly and Oscar soon realize that not everything they were told about the other species is true, and in fact, wonder of wonders, they might actually become friends! The print version is undoubtedly rich with illustrations, but I was enchanted with the audio version, superbly performed by Marc Thompson. His marvelous interpretations and many delightful voices add much to the tale.q ( )
