This is a story about a little boy who as he walks through his neighborhood discovers what makes his friends and community members have good days. This would be a good choice for units on community diversity or being thankful. ( ) On a walk through the neighborhood to his grandma's house, Daniel's many neighbors tell him, "Have a good day!" He politely inquires, "What makes a good day for you?" and each person has a different answer: a clear sky, a steady wind, a shady bench, bees on flowers, etc. And at the end, "Everybody home safe." This beautiful story is full of vibrant color; the illustrations are oil and collage on home-made paper. * Re-read June 2021 Top 100 Pick because: Beautifully rendered illustrations of collage and oil paint. 'A day in the life' is an adorable concept with Daniel going around his neighborhood asking what a good day is. The illustrations are vivid and layered and expound upon the text wonderfully. The premise, to me, is finding happiness in the joy of others (or vice versa). The layered, collage illustrations and the vibrancy of the images also stands out to me and has continued to do so in several of my top picture books. sin reseñas | añadir una reseña
