An excavation of the fabled Hall of Records beneath the Sphinx unleashes an ancient disease that leaves Alyssa Morgan's father fighting for his life. As seventeen-year old Alyssa races to find a cure, she stumbles onto an impossible artifact that could unveil the link between the traceless disappearance of Atlantis and the birth of Egyptian mythology. She finds unexpected help from Oxford University student, Paul Matthews, and brilliant computer geek, Clay Obono. Together, the unlikely trio uncovers messages concealed in the relic, catapulting Alyssa into the mind of an Egyptian god. The story unfolds in two parallel timelines separated by millennia that provide the accounts of two distinct, yet ultimately linked characters: a young boy, Horus, who was exiled from his island home of Atlantis and rises to become worshipped as the falcon-headed god, and young Alyssa, who relives his memories stored in the artifact. The current and ancient tales intertwine as Alyssa evades ruthless adversaries set on conquering the power within the artifact, and she discovers the value of Horus's hybrid blood and its connection to the ancient disease. The plots crescendo to a climax beneath the Sphinx, unveiling the origin of the mystical statue and the startling truth about Alyssa's birthright.… (más)

Alyssa is a teenager assisting her archeologist father on a dig in the jungle of South America when he receives a call enabling him to begin a dig near Cairo that he has been anxious to start. So leaving her behind, much to her chagrin, he jets off and begins the new dig. But tragedy strikes. He and his team are struck by a viral agent for which modern medicine has no cure and cannot identify. The key lies in an artifact found in the tomb and in the tomb's hall of records which cannot be accessed without the artifact. But what about the virus? How can she recover the artifact and enter the hall? Adding to her problems are other groups who want the artifact and are willing to kill to get it. The characters are well developed and interesting, the plot is terrific, and Sasinowski has a great writing style and this all combine to make for a good read. The only problem? It's a series so now I have to get my hands on book 2. ( )

Wonderful book! I am a sucker for this type of story and I thank you for sending the book to me for review so long ago. I was never able to get my Amazon account working to review even now but I am happy to be able to leave a review and rating here at least. ( )

**I received a review copy of this book in exchange for an honest voluntary review. All opinions are my own and not influenced by my source.**

I love Egyptian history: the idea of curses, rituals and royalty makes a lush backdrop for a novel. Which is why I find it odd that we don't often get to explore this world in fiction. So I was excited to dive into this new series!

By the end of Chapter 2 I was pretty hooked into this story. This book literally hits the ground running and the plot keeps moving at a great pace. Honestly, there isn't a dull moment here thanks to the multiple POVs you get; helping to build a 360-degree view of everything that is happening plotwise. Yet I was never overwhelmed by following multiple characters. It just helped built up the tension and suspense of what will happen when everything inevitably crashes together.

The blend of science and mythology is great. You've got all the classic elements of Ancient Egypt mixed with advanced (yet easy to follow) modern day science and it's simply great.

If you mixed "The Mummy" with "National Treasure", I feel like that's what this book would be. It's got all the action and suspense those movies have coming together to thrill the reader from the start. ( )

I received a copy of this book from the author in exchange for an honest review.

I don't usually follow this genre but decided to give it a chance. Heir of Ra was a compelling story and difficult to put down. There are plenty of twists and turns as well as action throughout. I did have trouble understanding who was a friend and who was fo and had to wait until the final chapter to see how it panned out. I was not disappointed.

A modern-day female Indiana Jones story mixed with sci-fi technology and ancient Egyptian mythology...a perfect blend. I would recommend this book to anyone interested in Action and adventure type stories. Great job Mr. Sasinowski! ( )

Sci-Fi meets Mythology meets a Suspenseful Mystery in this amazing tale.

After an excavation in Egypt, Alyssa’s father and his entire crew is struck with an unknown pathogen. Desperate to save him, she goes on a quest to figure out exactly what the source of the plague is before it can spread to the entire world.

The characters are very complex and well-fleshed out. Alyssa was my favorite character. She was a strong heroine, smart and reckless and wasn’t afraid to do what she needed to protect and save her father. Her dreams and ambitions made her easy to relate to and cheer for.

Fastpaced and action-packed, Heir of Ra is one of those stories that sinks its hooks in you and won’t let go until the end. The suspense of not knowing who is good or bad makes it all the more compelling. There’s plenty here for all readers to enjoy whether it be the Egyptian mythology, the technological spin about DNA, or the raw adventure. Even the mystery of it all is very well done. Every chapter of this book is enrapturing, and all I can say is I’m glad there are plenty more books in this series.

This book was given to me for free at my request and I provided this voluntary review.
