This follows on immediately from the first book. Sara returns to her Amish grandparents in Lancaster county and discovers Michelle who had imitated her is living with them
The two girls have a very fraught relationship both with each other and with their own situation.
Sara finds it very hard that Michelle built a relationship with her grandparents and is becoming more involved with Amish practices too
A jar with biblical quotes is found by Sara. Will it help her to come to terms with her mother?
I found myself getting frustrated with Sara at times. She can be very self centered at times.
The story takes the reader into different emotions throughout.
I look forward to reading part 3. ( )

I won this book in a Goodreads Giveaway. It is the second book in the series. I did not read the first book and was able to follow along. I do, however, wish that I had read them in order. It is what I recommend for best enjoyment. Each book, so far, tells, as the main story, one young girls story. The first book is Michelle’s story with, I’m thinking, Sara’s story coming in. This book is Sara’s story. The next book is Lenore’s. This is very interesting to me as Michelle and Sara were raised English while Lenore was raised Amish. Each young woman is hurting when they find The Prayer Jar, (this story made me want to make a similar type jar). I enjoyed the book very much but felt that the author did not stay true to Sara at the end. Michelle does something that affects Sara’s relationship. When Sara found out, there was no real feel reaction. I took a star away for it because I felt cheated. I don’t want to go completely into things and ruin it for anyone. I’ll let you draw your own opinion. Other than that, I really enjoyed this book and am planning to read both book one and three. There are some other things in the background that have been introduced. I’m hoping the next book picks up the threads. I recommend the book for relaxing, clean romance, reading.
Thank to everyone involved in the giveaway. The opinions expressed are my feelings from reading the book. The review was voluntary and written because I like to review books and other purchases I make. ( )

This story (book 2) pretty much picks up where book one (The Hope Jar) left off. This book is more about the real Sara Murray, who finds out, after her mother dies, that her Mom was raised Amish and that Sara has grandparents she never knew about in the Amish community. Sara must learn to forgive the woman, Michelle, who was pretending to be Sara for awhile, and has decided to become Amish. Sara will meet Brad Fuller, who is studying for the ministry, and she will try to be what Brad wants her to be, a Christian, even though she knows she is not. The prayers and verses she finds in a jar in the basement will help her find her way in the world, and find true peace and happiness.

I am enjoying getting to know these folks and learning more about the Amish people and their way of life. ( )

The Forgiving Jar is the second book in The Prayer Jar series, picking up where The Hope Jar left off. The conclusion, The Healing Jar, releases later this year.

You can always count on Wanda Brunstetter to deliver some of the cleanest stories in Christian fiction. Her books are filled with many beautiful prayers as her characters learn to build their relationship with God. You can trust her stories to have a good message for all readers.

If you liked The Hope Jar, you will love The Forgiving Jar!

I received a complimentary copy of this book from Barbour Publishing through NetGalley. A positive review was not required. All opinions expressed are completely my own. ( )
