If you have read the "Daughters of Boston" series by this author, then you will be familiar with the main characters in this short, but very sweet novella, about Lizzie and John Brady, (who you met in "A Passion Denied"). Lizzie strives to be the perfect mother to their children, but John just longs for his wife. As in many marriages, the wife sometimes puts the children before her husband, and then the husband feels a little jealous of the children, which in turn makes him feel even worse about his feelings for his wife. In this story John and Lizzie truly love each other, but both need to sit down and talk about what each is feeling. It won't be until Lizzie's sister has a heart to heart talk with her that her eyes are opened, and by the end, both Lizzie and John receive the best gift of all. A short story, but packed with a lot of lessons and love.

It was also good to catch up with all the family members in the O'Connor family and see how they were each doing. Their interaction with each other is always enjoyable and brings a smile to my face. ( )
