Another interesting children's book from Ann Jonas. The alliteration feels overly contrived (every word in the story starts with w). But the illustrations work well (all from an overhead perspective, so you have to look at the shadows to figure out what the characters are doing). Jonas' approach to picture books is always creative, if not always completely effective. ( )
