Personal lawyer, Isla Shayne seeks the help of criminal defense attorney and former NFL player, David Cormack when she discovers the body of her friend and client, Portia in the arms of her husband, Trey. Isla knows that Trey could not have killed his wife, but she needs help to prove it. The ADA who once had a personal relationship with Isla is using this case as a way to make a name for himself, which doesn't help the situation as David and Isla find their attraction to one another hard to resist. The deeper David gets into the investigation, the harder it is for him to deal with a past that is coming back to haunt him and a possible future that desperately scares him.

Evidence of Desire is a good romantic suspense story with legal components that develop the plot, but the element that adds a level of realism to the book is the discussion regarding CTE (Chronic Traumatic Encephalopathy). The book confronts this issue directly by including a character suffering from the condition and another character who is worried about it emerging in later life. The romance is also enhanced with a strong female protagonist who is faced with the possibility of caring for someone with this condition in the future. All of this is woven into an interesting mystery about a murder and the reasons behind it. Some of the characters and incidents in the story seem a bit over the top, but overall, Evidence of Desire is an engaging read that deals with some serious themes. I am disappointed, however, that this is the end of the series, so we won't be getting Noah's story. ( )

I didn't know that this is the second part of a series, however I was not lost and I really enjoyed this book so I will go back and get the first one since I liked this one. So we meet Isla who walks into a tragedy and she hires David and his associates to represent one of her clients. David and Isla were attracted to each other from the get both thinking that it was not the best time for that attraction but as they spend time together they can't help it and I really liked and wanted these two together. We also get Portia and Trey's story which was beautiful even though it ended so horribly. We get a cast of characters that has you either liking or hating them showing what a good job the author portrayed. We have suspense, love, heartbreak and justice so grab a copy my friends and Enjoy!
