Overall, there are a few projects that say an 8-year-old could do. I think this book and these craft projects would work best with the help of an adult. Mom, Dad, Aunt or Uncle, and Grandparents could use this as an opportunity to spend some quality time while creating something that can be used around the home. I’ll have my daughter go through it again and pick out one or two to work on. If we managed to make it look like the picture, I’ll post it. Otherwise, it’s the time together that counts, right? Remember, I’m not a Pinterest mom, but I can handle the instructions Ashley Mays has provided. The book is really a good guide with step by step instructions, pictures of the project in steps as well as at completion, both of which are extremely helpful.
I’m thinking of having her friend come over for a playdate and have them try the blue jeans tote bag. That looks like fun and not too difficult to do. The projects remind me of something you might find on Pinterest. Not too difficult or complicated, so kids could do it. It says a girls guide to DIY, doodles, and design, but boys might like some of the ideas within. I received a complimentary copy from BookLook Bloggers in exchange for my honest opinion. ( )
