That of Brooke and Garrett, the central characters, but also interwoven are Brooke's relationship with her sister, Mindy; her relationship with her husband Linc, Brooke's relationship with her nephews and niece. The Lemon Sisters has quirky humor, angst, romance, and kept me entertained from the moment I began reading to the very last page in the book. ( ) It pains me to admit it but I was very disappointed in this entry into the Wildstone series. I never connected with any of the characters and it felt forced to me. I get that family relationships are hard but it felt so overdramatic and unnecessary. The book finally felt sort of real around 70% but by then it was too late to be redeemed. Listened to audio narrated by Erin Melon. Two sisters who've been estranged come together and heal and also heal their relationships with the men they love. Brooke has OCD and has kept herself apart from her family and those she's loved since a tragedy struck seven years ago. She's spent that time hiding until the day her sister comes to her door at her wits end. Mindy is losing her mind and is at her sister's door with her three children begging for help. She is stressed out, worried about her marriage and is having a melt down. Brooke agrees to take the kids for a few days to help her sister out and in the process try to make amends for the hurt she's caused back home. This story is full of wonderful, charming characters, overcoming emotional scares. I loved the kids and their quirky ways and how the adults manage the chaos that comes with kids and the unexpected. The emotional stress of marriage with kids for Mindy and her husband as well as the loss between Brooke and Garrett and healing power of love. This a feel good read like warm cookies right out of the oven, about two sisters and the men they love. More of my reviews can be found at https://wyldheartreads.wordpress.com/ Jill Shalvis has a way with strong independent women. In this case, she has her way with strong independet women who definitely have issues. The Lemon Sisters are a mess. One is a people-pleaser who is burnt out from pleasing everyone but herself. Her sister is a free-spirit who with OCD who refuses to let anyone get close. She'd rather hide alone for 7 years than admit that she needs her family. These sisters are supported by 2 incredible men. In most romance stories, the men would sweep in and solve their problems. In this case, the are there to provide solid support while the sisters work out their issues. I laughed, I cried and I wanted more. sin reseñas | añadir una reseña

So when Mindy shows up on Brooke's doorstep in the throes of a break-down with her three little kids in tow, Brooke's shocked. Wanting to make amends, Brooke agrees to trade places, taking the kids back to Wildstone for a few days so Mindy can pick up the pieces and put herself back together. What Brooke doesn't admit is she's just as broken...Also how does one go home after seven years away? It doesn't take long for Brooke to come face-to-face with her past, in the form of one tall, dark, sexy mistake. But Garrett's no longer interested. Only his words don't match his actions, leaving Brooke feeling things she'd shoved deep. Soon the sisters begin to wonder: Are they lemons in life? In love? All they know is that neither seems to be able to run far enough to outpace her demons. And when secrets surface, they'll have to learn that sometimes the one person who can help you the most is the one you never thought to ask.-- No se han encontrado descripciones de biblioteca. |
