Information rich and illustration abundant is the best way to describe this book by Peggy Osterkamp. With a brief review of where Book 1 - (Winding a Warp and Using a Paddle) left off, the warp is off of your warping apparatus - measured, tied and spread in the raddle.

Chapter 2 covers winding on a plain beam by yourself or with a helper, tensioning, suggestions, tips and problem solving.

Chapter 3 covers reading a draft, heddles: types, which is right for you, making them, and threading them, followed by sleying the reed. Included is discussion about reed hooks and a reed substitution chart.

Once the loom is threaded you’re ready to move onto chapter 4 – Tying On, which includes: preparation, tensioning, knots and lacing.

Chapter 5 – Tying up the treadles
Understanding tie-up drafts (both from old and new books), how to and definitions of the different tie-ups available.

Chapter 6 – Weaving
Weaving in the heading – the 2-stick method is described and accompanied by plenty of illustrations. Lease sticks in while weaving - pros and cons and correcting errors and broken threads.

Chapter 7 – If sectional warping ids what you are interested in, Peggy discusses the whys, limitations and equipment needed to make this method successful.

Chapter 8 – Tying on New Warps
Want to avoid rethreading your loom for the same project again? This method will avoid threading errors (since you’ve already corrected any in your previous warp). Equipment needed, creating sheds and a lease and tying square knots and you are good to go!

Chapter 9 – Adjusting Looms
A well-adjusted loom makes for a successful final product! Discussion of how different looms work and how to adjust your particular loom.

The Automatic Warp Tension System and the Warping Drum are discussed in Chapters 10 and 11.

Chapter 12 – Combining Sectional and Plain Beaming
Winding 1” or 2” sections on your board or reel as you do in plain beaming and them beam them on ia section at a time with a tension box. Equipment and instruction.

Chapter 13 – Two or More Warps –
Explanation and illustrations for doing this on one or two beams.

Chapter 14 – Designing Random Stripes –
Peggy explains how you can do this designing, warping back to front – it’s not just for front to back warping!

And lastly, Chapter 15 – Knots
Covers exactly that - Knots. ( )
