Steele and Breezy have history. Three years ago Steele's MC took down the international president of her father's MC. Her father had made her a mule and whore for the club, and she had little self worth until she met Steele. When he turned her away it devastated her. She returns to him only after her father kidnapped her son. Steele pushed Breezy away for her safety and now that she's back in his life he isn't going to let her or the son he never knew he had go. While Steele tries to win Bree back, she uses her memories of seeing him buried under three women to try to keep him at a distance. After Steele explains she lets that go, but Steele PTSD has him behaving horribly towards Breezy. He uses sex and the trauma from his childhood to excuse his extreme need to know her every movement. I can empathize with those that suffer PTSD but how many times do you accept verbal abuse before you draw a line? Breezy is always understanding, no matter what he does to her and seems to find a way to bring him back from the edge. The author shares that Breezy did research on PTSD and maybe that's why we should accept her response to him, but it's difficult to like Steele. I like MC stories and alpha hero's but this one pushes the edge of how much should a woman put up with before she makes a stand. Feehan does a great job, drawing you into to the horrors these two endured and I truly was cheering Steele on, when he claimed to try to make things right but many times it just made me dislike Steele for what he did and dislike Breezy for putting up with it. There's also a lot of repetition in the story that had me double checking if I had inadvertently skipped back on my audio book. So with all that I have mixed feelings about this story. More of my reviews can be found at https://wyldheartreads.wordpress.com/ Suspense, action and danger are all things you will find in VENGEANCE ROAD. I don't have a whole lot to say about the couple in VENGEANCE ROAD. I liked them as a couple and I liked them individually. The sex scenes were intense and I felt their connection in their interactions. The addition of a child was nice as well. I mentioned in my review for JUDGEMENT ROAD that there wasn't a lot of paranormal happening. It was the same for VENGEANCE ROAD. There are a few little things, but I would have loved to see more paranormal aspects incorporated into the story. There were actually a few points where I felt like I might have missed something so I went to check out some of Feehan's backlist books and realized this is a spin-off. I was going to read the previous series, but then realized THAT was also a spin-off. lol. I might go back to the beginning in the future, but for now, I'm enjoying meeting the Torpedo Ink members and will continue to read future Torpedo Ink installments. * This book was provided free of charge from the publisher in exchange for an honest review. sin reseñas | añadir una reseña

HTML:Christine Feehan takes romance full throttle in the second gripping novel in her #1 New York Times bestselling Torpedo Ink series. Breezy Simmons was born into a ruthless motorcycle club—and now that she’s out, she’s never going to be that girl again. But when her past catches up with her, Breezy must go to Sea Haven to seek out the man who almost destroyed her. The man who chose his club over her and left her feeling used and alone. As vice president of Torpedo Ink, Steele is ride or die for the brothers he lived through hell with. He never thought he’d find something as pure as his feelings for Breezy, or that keeping her safe would mean driving her away with cruel words that turned her love for him to ash. Now, Steele won’t let her walk away twice. He’ll do whatever it takes to make Breezy his woman again—especially when he learns the real reason she came to him for help, and that the stakes are higher than he ever could have imagined…. Any paranormal or supernatural elements are virtually non-existent. Steele's gift of healing is barely used. The gifts of the others are either not mentioned or barely used also. You almost feel like CF keeps forgetting these stories are supposed to be PNR books.
CF is even MORE repetitive in this one than she was in book #1. If she would knock that crap off she would have a great series. But, it is Every Blasted Book she writes! I would HATE to be her editor.
Does CF think her readers are stupid and we HAVE to be reminded constantly about the same thing Over and Over!
So, she loses a full star this time for her extreme repetition.
It also lost points for some jumpy scenes. And some TSTL moments on both MC parts. I hate TSTL.
I thought Reaper was kinky. Trust me, Steele makes Reaper look 'Low Key' on the kinky side. Steele takes the cake and ate her it too! The steamy scenes are Inferno Hot and KINKY!
But, just a bit over done. I was ready to get to the meat of the story. The action and suspense. But nope, it doesn't come until about 65%. So the 1st 60% of the book is severe repetition and sex. I like my sex scenes, but I want Action. Suspense. I want things to MOVE.
What action there is happens quick and fast when it comes. It is decent but could have been better.
I do enjoy the characters and the world. And I am intrigued by both this series and the Sea Haven series that is directly connected. But, I will be 100% honest. The only way to get through these books is to skim through the unwarranted and Unwanted, Numerous repetitive Areas.
