Fiction. Romance. Humor (Fiction.) HTML:

All Dr. Sloan Copeland needed was someone to watch her kids. What she found was the man of her dreamsâ?¦

After a nasty divorce and a thousand mile move, Dr. Sloan Copeland and her twin daughters are finally getting the hang of their new life in Los Angeles. When their live-in nanny bails with no warning, Sloan is left scrambling to find a competent caretaker to wrangle her smart, sensitive girls. Nothing less will do.

Enter Rafe Whitcomb. He's all of those things, not to mention good-natured and one heck of a whiz in the kitchen. He's also tall, and handsome, and bearded, and ripped, and tatted, wrist to neck.

It doesn't take long for the Copelands to invite Rafe into their home. Just as quickly, both Sloan and Rafe find themselves succumbing to a heady mutual attraction, neither of them wants to deny. With every minute they spend under the same roof, this working mom can't help but wonder if Rafe can handle all her needs...

**This stand-alone romance is fluffy. So fluffy. It's fluff. Low. Angst. Fluff. featuring a large tatted, motorcycle riding ginger man, who bakes a mean bacon quiche and knows exactly how to wrangle clever six year olds while making their mom feel loved, loved, loved.**… (más)

This was a sweet book - looking forward to the second in the series. I have read a few of this author's books and she's becoming one of my favorites! ( )

Lots of readers liked this one, and it's fine particularly with the reversed tropes and lovely tenderness with the Black hair details and the delightful biracial twins and the loving families who raised this pairing - there is a lot to like. I am glad lots of people liked it!

I'm abandoning it at 65% because there's nothing happening with the couple, and I'm bored. Perhaps if it was the only book I was reading, it wouldn't be so stark, but man, this isn't holding its own against the current competition in my Kindle. ( )

Rafe is the first novel in the Loose Ends series by Rebekah Weatherspoon.

Plot:
After a hard divorce and a move across the country, Dr. Sloan Copeland has built a new life for herself and her twin daughters. But that life is seriously threatened when she returns home one day from work to find her live-in nanny just up and left. Sloan has to figure something out quickly, and after the last catastrophic nanny, it has to be a very good solution. That’s when a friend recommends Rafe Whitcomb. Rafe has been working as a nanny for a few families and comes highly recommended, even though he – tall, bearded, tattooed – doesn’t necessarily look the part. Rafe was thinking of leaving the nanny life behind, but can’t leave Sloan in a lurch, and the kids take a liking to him fast. That both Sloan and Rafe find each other very attractive could make things more difficult though.

Rafe is a sweet, quick read that I could fall into very well. It may not become an absolute favorite, but I definitely enjoyed the hell out of it.

It's been a long time since I finished a book, by reading only in one sitting. Rafe is a book that was picked up to read through a challenge in one of the Goodreads groups. As February is Black History Month, I decide to read more books by POC authors, and this book feet my personal challenge. Reading time with genuine grown-ups who were both honest and kind was definitely a pleasure. Even though this is genre fiction, author Rebekah gave sensible, level-headed, no-nonsense Dr. Sloan real-life situations, plot-twists, and conflicts.
I loved the contradiction that Rafe presents as a big, tough-looking guy who's actually really gentle, calm, and sweet. He's so great with kids and seems to really understand Sloan's daughters, Addison and Avery.
I like when the main characters have good communication (unfortunately, this happens rarely) - and this book nailed it. Not once did I have to wish they would talk about their feelings.
If you need a funny, feminist, sexy romance featuring an awesome Black surgeon female lead and a super sexy bearded nanny who is not here for your toxic masculinity written by a Black woman, here you go! I am definitely going to be reading more of her books. ( )
