I just couldn't get into it, I tried multiple times! Slow lead up, and silly combination of seriousness versus weird ballroom competitions in between. Just not for me! ( )I enjoyed this book. This was a great book about a different type of vampire. The story did not focus on just sex, but had a great plot and kept me interested. The use of ballroom dancing and a celebrity competition made it more current. The characters were well developed and you could understand their emotions. The main characters were older, and had a story line that reflected their age. This made it more exciting for the reader. The ending completely took me by surprise, which does not happen often. I received this book through LibraryThing Early Reviewers in the hopes of a fair and honest review.I enjoyed this book thoroughly. It was great to read about a new type of vampire and to have a story focused on more than sex. The details of the ballroom dancing and the celebrity nature of this particular competition were intriguing and just enough to add interest. The main protagonists were well developed and well rounded and the ancillary cast acted as more than puppets. I liked that the protagonists were older than those usually found in urban fantasies and I appreciated the realism of the ending, although I had hoped for a different outcome! The writing was sure and polished and the story was well paced and well developed. The only thing I actually disliked was the term "Soul-Fire" which jarred on me - I suspect it was the disconnect between the down-to-earth style of the writing, the characters and the story and the airy-fairy nature of the term itself. If the reader is in search of something different in urban fantasy and tired of stories about teens and young adults, this is the book for them. It tries to be very serious but at the same time the odd dance competition just madethe plot very confusing and silly. Once finished I wasn’t quite sure what I had read. sin reseñas | añadir una reseña
