Bruce is still numb after the death of his wife two years ago. But his daughter keeps him going, and in an attempt to spend quality time with her, they arrive in Matrimony Valley a week prior to the wedding in which Bruce is best man and Carly is the flower girl.
Kelly and Bruce rub some raw wounds in each other at first. Kelly is forthright, speaking truth when Bruce is sometimes not ready to hear it. AndBruce is so far buried in his grief, he often doesn’t focus enough on the here and now.
And of the cuteness of each of their daughters!! When put together, it’s double the adorable (and double the trouble).
Allie Pleiter shines a spotlight on the difficulties, challenges, and sorrow that come with losing a spouse too soon while offering glimpses of hope and promise of coming out on the other side of grief.
As the residents of the valley pull together to save a wedding that has every challenge thrown at it, including a winter storm and a persnickety wedding feature writer, two little matchmakers set their sights on making their parents happy. With all of that help, Bruce and Kelly just might discover that God is indeed the God of second chances.
