I liked the UFO angle and the group of friends trying to figure out what happened to them. I feel like the end of the book really muddied the water so to speak and left me with more questions than answers about the various incidents in the plot. ( ) Set in a small mill own in the United States, Franny and her friends all suffered when the mill exploded 5 years ago. For Franny and her brother Arthur it was the chronic injury their brother sustained and the departure of their mother, for other friends in their close know group it was abandoning the dream of leaving the town in order to care for injured family members, and for some, the need to replace family members who died . All this comes to a head when one night, while mucking about in an old "ghost house" on the outskirts of town, they witness an explosion. It appears something has fallen from the sky and hit a local power station. The friends climb over the fence to see what it is. Arthur reaches out to touch some shining metal and suddenly they all wake up 7 hours later with no memory what has happened. What Franny and her friends do know is that they all have strange scars on their bodies, the strange metal is missing and there are bullet casings nearby. Then stranger things start happening and the friends must try and get to the bottom of the mystery. Great Science Fiction/Mystery novel for older readers - copious amounts of the F word - had enough plot trails to keep me guessing to the end. sin reseñas | añadir una reseña

HTML: The Serpent King meets Stranger Things in Emily Henry's gripping novel about a group of friends in a small town who find themselves dealing with unexpected powers after a cosmic event. Almost everyone in the small town of Splendor, Ohio, was affected when the local steel mill exploded. If you weren't a casualty of the accident yourself, chances are a loved one was. That's the case for seventeen-year-old Franny, who, five years after the explosion, still has to stand by and do nothing as her brother lies in a coma. In the wake of the tragedy, Franny found solace in a group of friends whose experiences mirrored her own. The group calls themselves The Ordinary, and they spend their free time investigating local ghost stories and legends, filming their exploits for their small following of YouTube fans. It's silly, it's fun, and it keeps them from dwelling on the sadness that surrounds them. Until one evening, when the strange and dangerous thing they film isn't fiction-it's a bright light, something massive hurtling toward them from the sky. And when it crashes and the teens go to investigate ... everything changes. .No se han encontrado descripciones de biblioteca. |
