This book is a very cute book that displays kindness and acceptance among a diverse group of girls. The story is about four young girls who are all very different, but become best friends despite their differences. They end up staying life long friends and the story has a really successful and happy ending. I think this book would be great for any classroom. Every classroom is different, and diversity should always be embraced. This will help teach students that being friends with people who are different than you can be a great thing! ( ) This book can be a great getaway for Spanish speakers who are ESL students. This is a great story surrounding this group of friends who all hang out by a tree since their youth, and like that tree, you can see their bond grow stronger as they reach their adulthood. This can be a really good compelling story with a positive yet realistic message for students and ESL students. Amigas by Lauren Ace, Published 2019. I picked this book because it represents multiple cultures of friends (as shown on cover). It also has a Spanish and English version, so that more people can enjoy this book and not those who speak primarily one language or another. These four little girls play outside in an apple tree for their whole lives until they grow into the woman they are today, while still staying best friends. I would connect this book with E English because it teaches about friendship and interraical friendships through a poem aspect. I think it is a great book to show any student no matter their age, we all have friends who are differently skin colored than you and we should all be treated with kindness and respect. “True friendship is like sound health, the value of it is seldom known until it is lost.” This looks good on the surface with its diverse cast and themes of friendship and support, but the story is so mild and wishy washy that it doesn't really make a strong statement about girls per se. I feel you could substitute all boys and not really need to change the words very much beyond the pronouns. sin reseñas | añadir una reseña
