I have my very own Anne spelled with an "e" and she loved Anne of Green Gables. Surely she would love to see Anne in her very own picture book where she says goodnight to all her "kindred spirits."This is a grand introduction to the sweet Anne for little ones. They will cherish the book for its lovely illustrations and how those drawings and the short text have captured the essence that is "Anne" spelled with an "e" from the dear Green Gables. Don't hold off too long reading the original Anne of Green Gables, but do start with this lovely picture book. I received a complimentary copy through the LibraryThing.com "Early Readers Program" on behalf of Tundra Books and the author. Review was not required but appreciated. Opinions are mine and are freely given. I absolutely loved this book. It is a perfect bedtime story featuring that beloved red-head, Anne Shirley. Anne tells Marilla that she can not go to sleep until she says goodnight to all the things she loves. As she says goodnight, she gives a peak into the stories that many have read and loved over the years. She includes: Matthew and Marilla her new family members, Diana her best friend, Miss Stacy her teacher, Gilbert the boy who gives her grief at school, and the area she lives in. The text is beautiful and poetic. This charming book is a perfect introduction to Canadian author L.M. Montgomery's famous series. The illustrations are beautiful and rich and draw you into the story. They are vintage type illustration that I have come to expect from illustrator Geneviève Godbout. This is an amazing bedtime story that I will read to my granddaughter over and over. The publisher generously provided me with a copy of this book to read. A delightful trip down memory laneA lovely bedtime picture book based on the best-selling Anne of Green Gables We get to revisit Avonlea and follow Anne and friends Another fine release by Tundra! Children who are unfamiliar with Anne will not understand the significance of the places and characters referenced here, but it is a lovely goodnight book for anyone to enjoy nonetheless. I immediately recognized Genevieve Godbout's illustration style, which I only recently encountered through my recent Early Reviewer book "The Pink Umbrella." Her charming pictures certainly fairly glow with optimism and soothing washes that will soothe and cheer Anne fans of many ages. sin reseñas | añadir una reseña
Inspired by Anne of Green Gables-- it's time for Anne to go to bed, but not before saying goodnight to everyone and everything she loves. No se han encontrado descripciones de biblioteca. |

The art is great. The characters from L.M. Montgomery’s books are instantly recognizable and the surrounding backgrounds are fantastic. However, the text doesn’t flow well with what I know of the characters voices. Overall, I enjoyed the book and think it is a great way to introduce Anne and her imagination to younger readers. ( )
