( ) If you read The Guest List then you already have a good idea of what this book is like. Old friends, isolated location, secrets, and ultimately murder. Once again the identity of the murder victim is not disclosed until well into the book. I like the way the author uses multiple viewpoints to tell the story. The different perspectives add some interest. While I enjoyed the story and stayed with it until the end, I don't think it's as well-done as The Guest List. Maybe if I had read this one first it would have felt new and fresh, but it's just too similar. A group of friends who have known each other since college get together every New Year to spend time with each other and party. This year they are staying in a remote lodge in Scotland and will have a go at hunting. In true thriller form things don't go to plan. I haven't read any books by Lucy Foley before and have had this one on my kindle for a while so thought I would give it ago. I quite enjoyed the book but did find it a typical thriller. I did find I had to keep up with who was who. Lots of characters as there are nine just in the group of friends. However the story follows mainly just a few, Emma, Miranda, Katie, Heather who is the manager of the lodge and Doug the gamekeeper. It was quite easy forgetting which character I was following at times. Thr story had the classic scenario, an isolated location, plenty of snow and a lot of characters who weren't really very nice at all. Plenty of backstories to flesh out the main tale and a who dunnit. I did enjoy the book and would definitely read another by the author. A typical thriller which didn't bring anything new. sin reseñas | añadir una reseña
