For as long as Prudence can remember, it has been understood that her sister will one day wed the eldest son of their nearest neighbor. Such an alliance will benefit both families and bring a great deal of joy to all parents involved. Unfortunately, Prudence has never been able to feel as joyful. She believes her sister is mad to consider marrying a man she hardly knows, even if he will one day make her a countess. Titles and wealth shouldn't factor into matters of the heart, and as an aspiring romance novelist, Prudence cannot fathom how anyone could even think of settling for less than love. She certainly wouldn't, and she doesn't want her sister to either. Unable to stand by and do nothing, Prudence sets out to help the awkward couple discover the best in each other with the hope that they will eventually find love. What she neglected to foresee, however, was the possibility that she might fall in love with Lord Knave herself.… (más)

My Sister’s Intended is a charming, delightful story with engaging characters. Although the plot was quite easy to predict, the tale kept me entertained. I enjoyed the witty banter between Prudence and Lord Knave. This is a clean and wholesome Regency romance by a talented author. I will be looking for more of her stories. ( )

Wonderful!!!!

I absolutely love this book!! It's very entertaining and it was a wonderful change after reading several oppressive novels. Prudence is a fun character--very easygoing, playful, and enjoys a good time. Brand is also an interesting character. It was so easy to see that he was a better match for Prudence than Sophia. I will admit that I wasn't wild about the eldest Miss Gifford because it often felt like she was using her reserved nature as a crutch. But I do appreciate the fact that the sisters have a good relationship. I hope to read more of this series! ( )

In Rachael Anderson’s new clean Regency read, the outgoing and effervescent Prudence is about to learn that real life experiences don’t compare to fiction.

While Prudence is a bit hasty to judge the character of others—namely one Lord Knave, her heart is in the right place. She wants the best for her big sister and when Lord Knave appears to be a rake, she’s determined to learn the truth. And perhaps get some inspiration for her writing at the same time.

When Prudence strikes up a friendship and a bit of a wager with the man, her life experiences climb but so does her heartache.

I was a bit concerned about how Prudence was going to come out of this. After all, you don’t fall in love with the man your sister has been set to marry for years without becoming the villain. Yet, Anderson handles the situation well and gives readers a satisfying ending for all involved.

There are a few laughs, some swoon-worthy kisses, and more in My Sister’s Intended. Since this looks to be the first in a series, here’s hoping we get to check in with Prudence and her family in future books.
