Another short audiobook of a Third Doctor story. Enjoyable enough even if the plot was a bit "huh" at times. ( )

The Third Doctor is exiled on Earth, and Earth has received a call for help from the Axons. Their ship has crashed, they say, and their energy reserves are low. Will the humans help them get things back up and running? In return, they’ll give Earth a supply of the wonder element known as axonite. The Doctor’s suspicious, though. What do the Axons have up their sleeve…?

This is a novelization of the Third Doctor story and works well indeed. It might help to have seen the episode, if only so you can more fully appreciate the BAFTA-statue look of the Axons and the cheesy special effects of their ship. Recommended. ( )

As often happens with stories from this period, the printed page is able to compensate for the ropy special effects and less convincing performances of the original. The story is still pretty silly though. ( )
