Volume seven of the collected adventures of Squirrel Girl, the Marvel Universe's only squirrel-themed superhero. Most of this one is a single story featuring dinosaurs, robots, and robot dinosaurs. (Well, OK, one robot dinosaur, but come on, one is really all you need.) As usually, it's silly, good-hearted fun, with bonus computer science jokes. This one also features a "zine" drawn and written by various guest contributors (including, somehow, Garfield's Jim Davis) featuring comics supposedly created by Squirrel Girl and various other Marvel characters. This was entertaining, in its own weird way, but I have to admit, I think Squirrel Girl is the only superhero I really care about at this point. Doreen and Nancy win a contest and get to travel to the Savage Land (a dinosaur sanctuary created by aliens in the middle of the ice field on Antarctica). While the dinosaurs are delightful, something is threatening the island and the continued survival of the dinosaurs and Doreen, Nancy, and all the other contest winners must try to save them. Also Nancy likes a boy. The volume also includes two one-off comics: a zine-style selection with 1-2 pages "written" by various Marvel characters and one featuring Tippy-Toe teaming up with Rocket Racoon to take down a villain whose harnessing trees to do his evil bidding. Squirrel Girl goes savage! When Doreen Green and Nancy Whitehead enter a mysterious programming competition, they don't suspect that the prize for winners will be an all-expenses-paid trip to...the Savage Land! Will Squirrel Girl fight a dinosaur? Will Squirrel Girl fight two dinosaurs?! Will we come up with really excellent reasons why these fi ghts would take place, reasons that both justify the fights while also telling the story of what lead to this dinosaur-punching smashup: a story which, even though it stars dinosaurs and Squirrel Girls, contains within it the chance for us to recognize, perhaps for the fi rst time, our most personal and secret selves? Of course! Plus, jokes and a super villain who's causing major problems - it's the complete package!. No se han encontrado descripciones de biblioteca. |

Men vad är möjligen bättre än dinosaurier? Just det, robotdinosaurier.
