Marlo, the imaginative pit bull whose adventures began in author/artist Christopher Browne's first picture-book (the eponymous Marlo) returns in this second story. Once again our intrepid canine hero embarks on an imaginative journey, this time through the prehistoric world of the dinosaurs. Is it a dream? Perhaps a game of make-believe? It isn't clear, but what does come through is the fun Marlo has traipsing through this ancient jungle.

The reader/listener follows along as Marlo goes on his journey in Marlo and the Dinosaurs, which, much like its predecessor, is mostly wordless, with a bit of text at beginning and end. Also like its predecessor, there is a seek & find element to the book, as the reader is encouraged to hunt for three miniature dinosaur characters who appear in each scene. The artwork is colorful and appealing, capturing the excitement of Marlo's adventure, and carrying the story forward ably. Recommended to anyone who read and enjoyed the first book about Marlo, or who is looking for (mostly) wordless picture-book adventures. ( )
