( ) Does the world really need another review of this collection? For that matter, does Library Thing? Hard to say. It's been hard to read it, knowing that Asprin's gone. I have one book left in this series. Yes, I'm aware there were more, but they really seemed to lose something. The stories in this collection are a mixed bag. It made me miss the first few books, but it's like anything. After a time, it just seems to lose steam. The last story is mostly a setup piece for the next book, rather than being meaningful on its own. Recommended only for the Myth Adventures aficionado. What ages would I recommend it too? – Twelve and up. Length? – Most of a day’s read. Characters? – Memorable, several characters. Setting? – Fantasy, alternate dimensions. Written approximately? – 2007. Does the story leave questions in the readers mind? – Ready to read more. Any issues the author (or a more recent publisher) should cover? No. Notes for the reader: This was an excellent collection of short stories with two stories about Gleep. Would happily read more stories about Gleep! All of the stories in this collection are by both Mr. Asprin and Ms. Nye unless otherwise noted. 'How Robert Asprin and I Came to Be Writing New Myth Adventures" by Jody Lynn Nye. (I really liked the introducing two cats comparison.) 'The 'Discreet Blackout'' by Robert Asprin. (The title of this introduction comes from Ms. Nye's introduction.) 'Myth-Congeniality'*** Bunny's uncle wants the top prize in the planet Trofi beauty contest. Bunny's there to win it and Skeeve is there to help deflect all the magical cheating from the other contestants 'M.Y.T.H. Inc. Instructions'**** I'd already read it in Something M.Y.T.H. Inc., but enjoyed rereading it. Massha's wedding should make reality TV show writers turn green because even CGI wouldn't make an attempt to copy it seem convincing. 'Myth-Adventurers' by Robert Asprin *** Pookie is teaching Spyder the ropes of the adventurer biz. Pookie's explanation about the two main jobs of an adventurer makes a lot of sense. ''Myth-Calculations'**** There's a new protection racket going on at the Bazaar on Deva, and the Fairy Godfather wants the perpetrators identified and stopped. The trap will be provided by A Tough, A Troll, and A Trollop. (Guido is the tough.) 'Myth-ter Right'***1/2 Massha asks Aahz's help with Princess Gloriannamarjolie's Wylde Hunt. The prize is a very special item and there's reason to believe someone's trying to cheat. Gleep has a supporting role. 'M.Y.T.H. Inc. Proceeds' by Jody Lynn Nye**** This one's told from Gleep's viewpoint. I got a chuckle out of Ms. Nye's parody of Wal-Mart. How is the gold being stolen from a locked room when there's no sign of any tampering? 'Mything in Dreamland'***1/2 Aahz has more fun in this one than Skeeve does. 'Myth-Matched' by Jody Lynn Nye**** Tanada takes an assassination contract on an old school chum of her brother. The effort to get the father-in-law to give up made me chuckle. 'Myth-trained' by Robert Asprin ***1/2 Buttercup the war unicorn is sad and Skeeve seeks Big Julie's advice. I hope Skeeve takes it. While I didn't find every story a winner, there are enough good ones to make this collection worth owning. Another co-written book in Robert Asprin's Myth series, this book is a collection of 9 short stories. Jody Lynn Nye does a great job of using Asprin's world in "M.Y.T.H. Inc. Proceeds," and their co-written stories are good as well. This book, like the other recent Myth books, didn't call to me during the day to finish, as the earlier books in the series. Still, it is a fun read and a great step in Asprin's continuation of the Myth stories. sin reseñas | añadir una reseña

We've listened to the fans! Collected in this book are three of the four short stories by Robert Asprin and Jody Lynn Nye that introduce the new Myth Adventures Series (the first one, M.Y.T.H. Inc. Instructions, appeared in Something M.Y.T.H. Inc). The new series launched in August 2003 with Myth Alliances, and these stories bridge the gap between Book 12 of the original series (Something) and Book 1 of the new series (or is that Book 13?). In addition to the stories, Myth-Told Tales also includes introductions by both Robert and Jody, as well as full-colour cover art by newcomer Michael Komarck!
