A great easy to read informational picture book for kids to learn that their friends with leg braces are just the same as them. Gives information about why some kids wear leg braces. Also provides a glossary in the back. I love this book, just like a few of Lola Schaefer’s other books about disabilities, because although it is an informative book, she makes it interesting and engaging for younger readers. I like this book because it talks about why some children have leg braces and how they go about their every day lives. For example, one part of the book says, "Some kids who wear leg braces use walkers or crutches." This shows how they still can do everyday things. The differences in people are something that children should learn when they are young so they get a better understanding of people and the world. I think with what I have seen of Schaefer’s books, she does an excellent job of doing this. The purpose of this book is to enlighten the reader about children with leg braces and how they can still do everyday life activities, just in their own way. This book talks about children who wear leg braces, and makes sure to includes playmates who know and see children in braces and this book better informs as to why this is happening after. It also explains the importance that Leg braces hold such as supporting weak or injured legs. This book gives very clear explanations of why children wear braces and how they are just like other children and that they enjoy having fun with friends too. It also makes sure to include all the things Children with braces must go threw such as helpful sessions with physical therapists which teaches them how to use walkers or crutches and how this helps the children go for walks and do most things other children can do. Age 3-8 I really liked this book because it is an informational book about children who have disabilities. This book is great for many reasons. First, it shoes pictures of real children who have disabilities. These pictures show the children having fun, playing outside, and helping out around the house. This is good because it can help students understand that even if someone looks different because they are wearing leg braces, they are still just like you. Also, it gives a glossary of terms in the back for students to understand what they are reading. It also gives lots of resources for more information. The main idea of this book is to help children learn about kids who wear leg braces. sin reseñas | añadir una reseña
