This informational text, teaches ways to calm children who may be feeling all sorts of ways. It is a great classroom activity or daily activity that can be read with kids to help them focus, or exert some of their extra energy. It is cool all the different ways this book can be used to help your child, and you as well as you put to practice what the text tells you to do. ( ) I love this book because it is a collection of breathing techniques that children can use to calm down. Sometimes the illustrations are in calming and soothing colors. Meanwhile, some breathing exercises are more energetic and the illustrations reflect this. The author and illustrator worked really well together to create a great collection of breathing techniques and art to go along with it! The author also writes in a poetic manner, such that you can feel the energy flowing through the sentences. Again, sometimes the energy is calming and sometimes it is full of energy, completely appropriate for each breathing exercise. Besides the literal imagery, the author uses fantastic adjectives to help the reader feel like they are in the scene they have created. This is a lovely book to read as an entrance to meditation and mindfulness in general! This collection does an excellent job at creating a scene both through words and art! I usually don't review kid's lit or books aimed at a young audience, which is weird - because I have a lot of involvement with those books. I had to chime in about this one, though - beautifully illustrated and full of advice and activities that connect immediately with a young audience and provide them with healthy habits that can serve them for a lifetime. Especially recommended for parents of children prone to anxiety and emotions that get out of their control regularly. I love it. This book is pretty much as the title bills it: Simple breathing exercises and physical activities that kids can do to build self-regulation skills. Adults can introduce each exercise by reading aloud the narration as kids do the actions. With practice, kids can do them on their own. Also ideal for quick classroom breaks or storytime activity. sin reseñas | añadir una reseña
