Suspense Well it is well written and the blurb on the back sounded promising, but oh my it is sadly a boring book that goes on forever, the mystery of who Alex actually isn’t worth the time it takes to get the explanation. Now I know why it was a BOGO book at Barnes and Noble. The other book I got was even worse. Unreliable narrators appear quite frequently in novels and this is an extreme example, with Alex, who has lost her memory, as the teller of the tale. This makes for a very intriguing story that keeps you guessing right until the very end, as her earlier life is slowly revealed. Now in her late 20s and a documentary film-maker, her latest project takes her back to Blackwood Bay in Yorkshire, a place thta she vaguely remembers with trepidation. What follows is an icily gripping story as the subject of her film veers from everyday life in the village at the outset, to the death and disappearance of three young girls in the previous 10 years with a cast of suspicious local residents who are reluctant to have the past re-examined. Watson has brought a believable terror to the story as Alex gradually uncovers and confronts her forgotten past. sin reseñas | añadir una reseña
"Blackwood Bay. An ordinary place, home to ordinary people. It used to be a buzzing seaside destination. But now, ravaged by the effects of dwindling tourism and economic downturn, it's a ghost town - and the perfect place for film-maker Alex to shoot her new documentary. But the community is deeply suspicious of her intentions. After all, nothing exciting ever happens in Blackwood Bay - or does it?"--Provided by publisher.
