I borrowed this from my daughter since it seems to be the next book in the series (between [b:Ember Falls|31327371|Ember Falls (The Green Ember #2)|S.D. Definitely read this after [b:Ember Falls|31327371|Ember Falls (The Green Ember #2)|S.D. Smith|https://images.gr-assets.com/books/1470141297s/31327371.jpg|51998532].

My main complaint of this series (and [b:The Last Archer|36640079|The Last Archer (The Green Ember)|S.D. Smith|https://images.gr-assets.com/books/1511332198s/36640079.jpg|58408305] is no exception) is that the action is almost all non-stop crisis. The characters don't ever seem to get a breather, there's no peace—and perhaps that's the point. ( )

A great little story that lets us behind the scenes of some of the action in [b: The Green Ember|23754884|The Green Ember (The Green Ember #1)|S.D. Smith|https://images.gr-assets.com/books/1421954289s/23754884.jpg|43369579]. We learn a little more about side character Jo Shanks and get to see some wonderful character development within a short space. A must-read for fans of the series. ( )
