Genre: Poetry I think this book was very great because it contains a lot of historical content for children. I really liked the way it was composed and illustrated. It is not your typical boring history book, so I can see a lot of students being comfortable and enthusiastic to keep reading this book. I think it is a good book to have in a class set. The Pinkney couple is at it again with this creative and gorgeous poetic biography of the late Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. The cohesion of the poetic, lyrical text with the poetic and breathtaking illustrations creates a beautiful and honest portrayal of the great civil rights activist. The inclusion of the henny penny throughout the book, both in text and illustration is an interesting inclusion- that the sky is falling when Dr. King was killed. It is a biography that is also a collection of poems honoring his life and legacy. Includes: Author's reflections, Artist's reflections, 'Now is the Time' note, Timeline, and list of Sources. sin reseñas | añadir una reseña

In a rich embroidery of visions, musical cadence, and deep emotion, Andrea and Brian Pinkney convey the final months of Martin Luther King's life -- and of his assassination -- through metaphor, spirituality, and multilayers of meaning. No se han encontrado descripciones de biblioteca. |
