Though this isn't the first book of the series, it read fine as a standalone. I hadn't read a procedural in quite a while, but completely enjoyed this. I loved the setting of St. Louis. Molly was a likeable character, the setting was real and gritty, and the plot was very well constructed. If you like Patricia Cornwell (particularly her early works), you'll enjoy this book. ( ) Eileen Dreyer got me. Yes, she did. I absolutely had no idea this book would end like it did! When Molly Burke starts getting notes and human bones at the back door she doesn't Know what to think. She has no clue who is leaving her these "gifts" but suddenly every news channel in the country has someone sleeping on her front lawn! To add to the chaos she has an unexpected visitor - her nephew Patrick. Patrick has decided to pay her visit to escape boredom at home as his parents (Molly's brother and wife) are always gone and never pay attention to him. Molly understands how he feels as her own family treated her the same way when she chose nursing over the career they had in mind for her. Black sheep hang well together. And then there is Kenny, one of Molly's ER cases and Frank, a lawyer who is in love with her and makes her life hell in the process. A must-read! In one sitting, All night if necessary. And don't say you weren't warned..... sin reseñas | añadir una reseña

Eileen Dreyer takes you into the dark corners and intense moments of the worlds she knows best: the ER and the Office of the Medical Examiner in St. Louis... Molly Burke is a death investigator and trauma nurse for the city of St. Louis who has seen every type of atrocity and more than her share of heartbreak. And she knows that no good deed goes unpunished. For years she tried to save the abused children who came through her ER. She's learned that she can save some kids, but others will be lost to their horrific families. Now, a child she once tried to save is all grown up. His life was unspeakable. His deeds are now unfathomable. And he wants Molly's attention. A killer has been created and he will stop at nothing to make sure Molly Burke won't ignore him now. To make matters even more complicated, Molly's brother asks her to watch his sixteen-year-old son, who seems to have left a string of "incidents" in his wake, forcing her to face the fact that no family is without its secrets. Breathtaking, tightly plotted, and compelling, Head Games is a tour-de-force thriller that looks into the depths of the human heart and mind. No se han encontrado descripciones de biblioteca. |
